Fall Protection on Foundation Walls
  • When working and standing on the top of foundation walls always:
    • Keep your tools in close reach so as not to loose your balance
    • Use a properly place ladder to climb to and from the wall
    • Make sure there are no impalement hazards on the ground below
    • Do not use the wall top to walk all around the wall. Instead use the ladders to access the area of the wall where the work needs to be completed.

Review
  • Placing the module onto the foundation create crushing, caught between and fall hazards.
  • Employees must not put themselves in positions where they could be crushed or caught between modules.
  • Fall hazards on foundation walls are difficult to control and good work practices should be used
  • Misuse of ladders lead to many falls.
  • Always use the appropriate ladder for the job.
